If so, we may have just the job for you as an Animal Care Attendant or a Kennel Technician. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply and all positions are located at our shelter on 4371 E. Ashman St in Midland, Michigan.
Position: Part-Time Permanent Kennel Attendant
Hours: Approximately 20-30 hours per week (includes holidays/evenings/weekends)
Starting Hourly Rate: $11.25/hour
Primary focus of position: This position is primarily working one on one with our dogs. Confidence in walking/handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments is important in this position, since getting our dogs out daily is a big part of the job! Cleaning is the other primary focus as our kennels require constant upkeep, especially in the mornings. This includes a lot of poopy messes! Interactions with cats and small animals may also be required, as well as assisting potential adopters viewing animals.
Animal Care Technician
Position: Permanent Part Time Animal Care Technician
Hours: Approximately 25-35 hours per week (includes holidays/evenings/weekends)
Starting Pay Rate: $11.75/hour
Primary focus of position: ACT’s take care of a range of duties at HSoMC. If you like a fast paced work environment that is constantly changing and never predictable this might be the job for you! ACT’s are responsible for the following: Intake of stray and owner surrendered animals, counseling adopters and processing adoptions, administering medical treatments including prescribed medications to resident animals, assisting with cleaning duties, interacting with and assisting volunteers and fosters, customer service duties including answering phones and utilizing computer skills each day, participation in fundraisers, among many other possible duties! This position works closely with our community and an ideal candidate will need to be compassionate and customer service minded! Animal handling experience is a plus but not a requirement.
